In January 2022 I set out to gain experience in teaching a collaging workshop at NSCG Stafford College. Having personally studied Art & Design at this establishment, I wanted to deliver skills that I would have found useful at the time.

The Importance of Idea Generation

Sometimes, to find reason within your practice, you have to go back to basics and allow yourself the freedom to create without purpose. Through consistent reflection you will be surprised at how much you didn't know about yourself as an artist. One of the hardest things I have learned as an artist is that everything you create holds purpose - even though you not might feel that way! This workshop gave the students freedom to have fun with their creative output, and understand the importance of self and peer reflection.

It was fulfilling to see that the students took an interest in my personal practice and enquired about applying for higher education. Their response to the workshop suggested that I had achieved my goal. I hope to continue aiding younger students in their creative development.
